Ponca, AR

Ponca is a small town located in northeast Arkansas. The population was just over 2,000 in the 2010 census. Ponca is home to the Ponca Nation and has been for centuries. The town was founded in 1892 by the Ponca Nation and named after their chief, Chief Ponca.

The economy of Ponca is based largely on tourism, with visitors coming to see the historic sites and enjoy the natural beauty of the area. There are several attractions in and around Ponca that draw tourists, including:

The Ponca Nation Museum is located in downtown Ponca and features exhibits about the history of the tribe and their culture. The museum also has a gallery that displays works by local artists.

The Chief Joseph Memorial Park is located just outside of town on Highway 62. It features a visitor center with exhibits about Josephine County history, as well as an outdoor amphitheater that hosts concerts and events throughout the year.
