Archer is a small town located in Hillsborough County, Florida. The population was 2,898 as of the 2010 census. Archer is home to the Archer Golf Club and the Archer Raceway.

The town of Archer was founded in 1887 by George W. Archer and his brother-in-law, J.D. Woodruff. The town was named after John Farrar, 1st Baron Farrar, who was an English judge and politician who served as Lord Chief Justice from 1827 to 1830 and as Home Secretary from 1830 to 1834 under the premiership of Sir Robert Peel.
