Highland Park is a suburb of Chicago, Illinois. The population was 38,821 at the 2010 census. Highland Park is bordered by the city of Chicago to the north and west, Oak Park to the east, River Forest to the south and southwest, and Harwood Heights to the southeast.

The first settlers in Highland Park were Irish immigrants who arrived in 1852. The town was incorporated on October 5th of that year. In 1871, Highland Park became home to one of America's first golf courses when Donald Ross designed his course at what is now known as Glenview Golf Club.
