Abbyville is a small town in Douglas County, Kansas, located about 25 miles west of Lawrence. The population was 1,848 at the 2010 census. Abbyville was founded in 1872 and named for Abigail Dodge, the daughter of Senator William P. Dodge of Nebraska.
