Goddard, KS

Goddard is a small town in Johnson County, Kansas, located about 20 miles south of Wichita. The population was 1,868 at the 2010 census. Goddard was founded in 1871 and named for General John C. Fremont.

The town's economy is based on agriculture and related industries, including cattle ranching and farming. However, since the late 1990s Goddard has experienced significant growth as a result of its proximity to Wichita and its status as a bedroom community for that city. As a result of this growth, many new businesses have opened up in Goddard, including restaurants, retail stores, and medical facilities.
