McKinney, KY

McKinney is a city located in the U.S. state of Kentucky, and the county seat of Kaufman County. As of the 2010 census, the city had a population of 21,521. It is part of the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex and is adjacent to Plano, Texas. McKinney was founded in 1871 as a railroad town on the Kansas Pacific Railway line and was named for Judge Rufus McKinney, one of its founders. The city's economy has been based on manufacturing (particularly aircraft parts) and service industries (including insurance). However, since 2000 McKinney has experienced significant growth in its technology sector due to its proximity to Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport and strong telecommunications infrastructure.
