Loup City, NE

Loup City, Nebraska is a small town located in the northeast corner of the state. The population was just over 1,000 people in 2010. Loup City is a farming community that has been around since the late 1800s. The town's economy is based on agriculture and livestock. However, there has been a recent trend of real estate development in Loup City.

The first commercial development in Loup City was the construction of a grain elevator in 1912. This led to the development of small businesses that serviced the local agricultural community. In 1974, Loup City became home to Nebraska's first shopping center when Sears opened its doors on Main Street. Over time, other businesses followed suit and today there are several shopping centers and restaurants located in Loup City.
