West Nyack, NY

West Nyack is a small town located in Rockland County, New York. The population was 9,906 at the 2010 census. It is part of the White Plains–Westchester– New Rochelle metropolitan area.

The town was first settled around 1798 by Dutch and English settlers. The area was then known as " Nyack Landing". The name West Nyack was adopted in 1892.

The economy of West Nyack is based largely on real estate and retail sales. There are several shopping centers in the town, including the Promenade at West Nyack, which contains a variety of stores including Macy's, JCPenney, Sears, and Target. There are also several restaurants located within the Promenade complex as well as other businesses that cater to residents and tourists alike.

There are also a number of homes for sale in West Nyack, with prices ranging from $200,000 to over $2 million. Many of these homes were built in the early 1900s and feature Colonial Revival or Tudor Revival architecture styles.

The schools in West Nyack are generally good quality with strong academic programs available to students throughout the district. There are also a number of extracurricular activities available to students through both school and community organizations such as theater groups and sports teams.

One downside to living in West Nyack may be its location; while it is only minutes away from White Plains Town Center and other major shopping areas, it can be difficult to get around by car if you do not have access to a personal vehicle or public transportation options like buses or trains that run through the area
