Tieton, WA

Tieton is a small town located in the Yakima Valley, about an hour south of Seattle. The population was just over 2,000 in 2010, and it has been growing steadily since then. Tieton is known for its natural beauty and its proximity to wine country. It is also a popular place to live because of its affordable housing and excellent schools.

Real estate in Tieton is dominated by single-family homes, although there are a few apartments and condos available as well. The median price for a single-family home was just over $300,000 in 2016, which is lower than the median prices for both Seattle and the rest of the Yakima Valley. There are also a number of properties available for sale at below-market rates, which makes it an attractive option for buyers who want to live in a small town but don’t want to pay high prices.

The main attraction for buyers in Tieton is the quality of life that the town offers. The residents enjoy excellent schools (including one of Washington’s top public charter schools), low crime rates, and plenty of recreational opportunities (including skiing at nearby Mount Baker). There are also plenty of shopping options available close by (including several big box stores and several boutiques), as well as restaurants that cater to all tastes and budgets.

There are some drawbacks to living in Tieton, however. The town is relatively small (which can make it difficult to get around if you don’t have a car), and there isn’t much else going on outside of the local community (although this may change with time). Additionally, while Tieton has excellent schools overall, it doesn’t have any elite institutions like those found in Seattle or other larger cities – so if you're looking for an educational environment that will challenge you academically, you may not find it here.
