Bunker Hill is a small town located in Johnson County, Kansas. The population was 1,898 as of the 2010 census. Bunker Hill is located in the Wichita metropolitan area and is bordered by the city of Wichita to the south and east, Newton to the north, and Goddard to the west.

The history of Bunker Hill can be traced back to 1871 when a group of settlers from Illinois arrived in Johnson County looking for land on which to establish a new home. The first settler in what would become Bunker Hill was George W. Smith who built a cabin on what is now known as Smith Road. By 1875, there were enough people living in Bunker Hill that it was decided that a post office should be established there. The name " Bunker Hill" was chosen because it sounded like an appropriate name for a town located near hills that were used for defensive purposes during the American Civil War.

Today, much has changed since those early days when Bunker Hill was just starting to grow into what it has become today - a small town with plenty of character and charm!
