Queens Village, NY

Queens Village is a neighborhood in the borough of Queens in New York City. It is located on the eastern edge of Long Island, adjacent to Astoria and Sunnyside. Queens Village has a population of approximately 30,000 people.

The history of Queens Village can be traced back to 1664, when Dutch settlers established a farmstead there. The area gradually developed into a small farming community, with homes and businesses built along what are now Northern Boulevard and 31st Avenue. In 1853, the village was incorporated as part of the newly created Borough of Queens. By 1900, it had grown to encompass nearly all of what is now Queens Village, with businesses and homes spread throughout its streets.

In recent years, Queens Village has seen significant growth due to its proximity to Astoria and Sunnyside neighborhoods as well as its strong commercial base. Many new restaurants and stores have opened up in the area over the past few years, making it one of the most vibrant neighborhoods in Queens.

One major factor contributing to this growth has been the development of The Hub at Rego Park – an ambitious project that will bring hundreds of new apartments and retail spaces to the neighborhood. Other projects currently under construction or planned for Queens Village include The Commons at Hunters Point South – a mixed-use development featuring more than 1 million square feet (9300 m2)of office space – as well as The Residences at Hunters Point South – a luxury apartment complex set to open later this year.
